The Foreign Exchange - Yoshi's SF 7/23/2010
It was a busy night at Yoshi's in San Fran. People lined up out the door for Foreign Exchange. We were able to snag a table on the floor, but didn't need it much cause we were up most of the time dancing! Foreign Exchange was an awesome time!! Last night made me a bigger fan of Phonte who has it all, flow, vocals and comedy. He's a pretty funny guy and cracked us up all night! First time seeing Nicolay live and in person! One underrated and talented producer! Yazarah and D Rock aka Darien Brockington are AWESOME vocalists!! They complimented the band and Phonte perfectly. The chemistry they had on stage was really something it felt like family which made for a warm and fun show! They did a "Billy Jean" cover and also a Level 42 cover of "Something About You!" Eric Roberson surprised us and came out and did a song too! The audience was great! A wonderful mix of the bay area in one room. It was a sold out show and a well deserved one at that! Good times with C-Rock, J-Hip and Alaniz..I had so much fun I fell alsleep in da car ride home. :)

Brand Nubian-330 Ritch, 7/13/2010
This show was originally supposed to happen last month. So happy that instead of canceling the show they rescheduled it! We saw Brand Nubian Live for the first time maybe 5 years ago? I don't even remember...at that show, we had a blast! They performed a great show, and also were able to mingle with us after the show. Too bad I didn't bring a camera at that show cause it would have been a good keep sake.
This show was a little different, Brand Nubian did the "All For One" album in it's entirety! They had never done this in their hip hop career before, so it was exciting to be a part of it. Before they came on, we were entertained by the dj spinnin the jams. It was so much fun dancing and movin to the classics. It was even more fun watching everyone else dancing along!! Brand Nubian was great! Didn't skip a beat or lyric....they are pros, legends and innovators. Glad to see them together again...Sadat out of jail even! :) The whole night was fun...love the times when I plan not to get tipsy but do anyway...love the times when we actually get to talk to the artist and give them props...but what I especially love is, Love the time spent with my friends...memories to last a lifetime!

Moka Only-Elbo Room 7/12/2010
Facebook Teri Lagaya: Moka Only-Elbo Room 7/12/2010: "Moka is one of my most favorite producers/artist! He used to be a memeber of Canada's Swollen Members, but branched out to do this solo thing. I've been a fan of his since his Lowdown Suite Album..and years later this guy has made many, many more songs and albums. So many it's so hard to keep up with him. Moka can make and use anything sound musical, his music is very open minded, creative, and well arranged. You can definitley hear Dilla's influence in Moka's music, but Moka takes it to another level...and comes out sounding like nothing else out there right now.
Thanks to my buddy Nate, found out Sunday that Moka was making a bay area apperance the very next day! I knew I couldn't miss it, Moka barely comes out to the bay, let alone do a show in the bay! You can normaly find him in his music lab making music till the butt crack of dawn. So to me and the few Moka fans that showed up knew that this was a rare and special apperance.
First song...'More Soup' I want to say that he did that song cause for me, but we'll just leave that fantacy alone. :) He did 'Starfish, 'Only You', 'I'm a nut', 'Conekter' and a whole bunch of stuff off other albums I haven't heard of before. He did a Fishbone cover and can you believe it a George Michael cover of 'Faith'! Another thing that Moke has that makes him special is that Moka has a great singing voice...and compliments his music well.
He ended his set with the other openers on stage. They sang a long to the Beatles Song 'The Yellow Submarine'-strange way to end but everytime I hear that song it reminds me of my dad.
I'm glad I got to catch this guy here in SF. I wished he would have done a tour with Ab-Rude, and Aceyalone, or even The Pharcyde...now THAT would have been a tight ass show. But until next time I will keep stalking him on Myspace! haha!! - Groupie Status I know."
