When I got word that LB was playing in SF..I HAD to get tickets! I didn't want to miss them live, esp. since this is their last tour, and album together, after this..no more LB. :(
Got to Independent right before they got on stage. This show was SOLD OUT!...and the place was packed! By the time we got there...fools were already feelin' good, liquored up and ready for LB! A good mix of people there...not what I expected, but great to see everyone come out to see them.
LB's DJ got the crowd pretty hyped! Played a lot of classic hip hop...and catered to the crowd well. Phonte and Big Pooh came on and the crowd went crazy! Lots of guys in the crowd...it seems like LB is a "guys group" All you could hear were the guys shouting out the lyrics to all the songs. It was fun watching groups of guys that came together getting hyped when a song came on, singing out lyrics to each other and out to LB! Phonte and Big Pooh delivered a great show! I have to say, if not most but all their beats are pretty banging! They ran through, "Speed", "The Yo-yo", "So Fabulous", "The Way You do it", "Beautiful Morning","Good Clothes", "Dreams" & one of my faves.."Lovin' it" They did a good variety of songs on all 4 albums...and even encored! Love going to a show when you can feel the good energy from the audience! You know everyone there was down to have a great time!...and it was! If I'm movin' and grovin at a show......It's a good time!
Phonte and Big Pooh, are two very talented artist. They both have the flow, lyrics and originality. Phonte and Pooh were able to bust a freestyle or two and kept the show interesting! They gave props to Heiro for giving them their start up in the industry. The bay definitely showed LB lots of love...it goes to show that there are some peeps here in the bay who know what good hip hop is. So glad I got to see them live with my two favorite dudes...John and Nate! :) Kettle Chi
